Shirley Landsdown  My name is Shirley Landsdown. I live in Rock Hill SC and originally from Danville, Illinois. I have been down here since 1985. I have been a music fan since I was a very young child and just started doing things in the music realm. I have been on Facebook for about four years and into two different rooms with DJ’s. I know have two groups of my own Shirley’s Indies Corner and Hear It Here First. I’m also the Admin. and President of Ruthie Steele Country Corner Fan Club by Shirley. I played her song “Love Is Not Always a Rose” way before I met her online. We met on Facebook last February. We became close friends in June. I have started being a song plugger for Ruthie Steele about three months ago. We have co-written close to 25 songs together. Two are coming out on a label on Lucky 7. We are also started to co-write a book with 12 of her most popular songs. Ms Steele is the sister to the late Max D. Barnes well known songwriter. Her songs are mostly all written from life experiences.

Ruthie Barnes Steele  Award winning Singer, Songwriter, & Producer
belong to one of country music’s most famous songwriting families. Sister to (Nashville Songwriters Hall of fame) Max D. Barnes, musician Link Barnes, award winner Singer/songwriter David Steele, and award winning guitarist & songwriter Max T. Barnes. In Nashville the Barnes family name means gold, Gold Records that is! Just ask, George Jones, Randy Travis, Vince Gill, Collin Raye, Vern Gosdin, Pam Tillis, Loretta Lynn, and Reba McIntyre, to name a few. Ask The Grammys, CMA’s, and Hall of Fame who the Barnes family is and bells start ringing like a Vegas casino. Though her brother Max D. Barnes passed away he is still winning awards. In 2006 Max D. and Ruthie (Brother & Sister) and (Ruthie’s son) David Steele were all inducted into the American Old Time Country Music HALL OF FAME.
As a recording artist Ruthie brought the Barnes name to Nashville in “the good ole days” when 1960’s Music Row was bustling with pickers and dreams. Encouraged by a fiddle playing grandma Ruthie came to Nashville and literally walked on to music row and set in motion a series of future of events that would see her younger brother reach superstar status and watched him give birth to the next great American songwriter (Max T. Barnes). Ruthie paved the way for herself and her younger brother (Max D. Barnes) in the 1960’s where they both signed with Cedarwood Publishing and Jed Records- and launched careers that has enjoyed unprecedented success for the next 30 years. This is were we stop to say the rest is (country music) history.
